Oporto Open House

Since 2015, the Serra Henriques Foundation and the Architecture Triennale have been the institutional partners of Open House Porto, organized by CASA DA ARQUITECTURA in collaboration with the municipalities of Porto, Gaia, Matosinhos and Maia. It is one of the most significant cultural achievements in that metropolitan area.

Founded in London by Victoria Thornton, Open House takes place all over the world, being present in cities such as Barcelona, New York, Rome or Buenos Aires.

The idea is simple: during a weekend, hundreds of spaces around the city - buildings of different eras and typologies - open for free through guided tour programs and so-called neighborhood tours. In this way, the public has the opportunity to discover classic spaces or cultural heritage that is normally closed to visitors.
